The gun that won the west was an apt name for the 1960s expansion team in Texas and thus the Houston Colt .45s arrived on the scene. Although the name was short-lived, it's certainly an interesting choice for a sports team as it's a very specific brand and type! But when they moved to the Astrodome, they decided to pay homage to the Houston's impact on space exploration and changed their name.
